Title:  "Ride the Workhorse Till the Tail Falls Off"

Air Date:  October 11, 2007
At Fei Long, on day ten, Jean-Robert was up and about
The professional poker player's strategy drove his pace
Jean-Robert knew he'd come close to being voted out
Indeed, he preferred being the "last horse" in the race

His horse, said he, was "slowly edging up on the pack"
In recent challenges, his contributions had been strong
At camp, Jean-Robert's strategy got him up off his back
Hoping Fei Long will deem prior perceptions as wrong

Jean-Robert believed his future was looking bright
"The weak link", Courtney, would be taking the fall
At their next Tribal, if she were to survive the night
In 'Survivor' history, she'd be the "luckiest" of all

Together, Jean-Robert and Courtney worked a chore
In the course of which, Jean-Robert became alarmed
His cry of, "don't touch that!", through Courtney tore
Jean-Robert thought she could have been harmed

"Don't yell at me", an irritated Courtney would reply
She wished her "cocky" tribe mate had been ejected
For her, Jean-Robert's "aggressiveness" did not fly
While at Zhan Hu, a disgusting surprise was detected

While Peih-Gee carved day ten's line onto a tree
Erik brought to repulsive light a hideous situation
Inside their rice bag, there was much mold to see
In colors quite capable of inducing regurgitation

Sherea separated the moldy mess from the rest
Into a container, said Dave, must go the edible rice
As for a container, she asked, "what do you suggest?"
In a sarcastic tone, "find something" was Dave's advise

Sherea told Dave she had separated good from bad
To speak down to her as such, he was in no position
His reply of ,"thanks for listening" made Sherea mad
For to his tribe mates, Dave mostly refused to listen

To Dave, she stated, "you're not running the show"
She found a container, and into it shells were placed
With container in hand, to the lake Sherea would go
By an irate and determined Dave, she was chased

"Please do not throw those away!", he urgently said
"Back up off me!", ordered Sherea, in an angry tone
Yelling, "give me my shells!", is what he did, instead
Sherea dropped the shells, and stormed off, alone

Dave was "digging his own grave", Sherea believed
She would not be "run over", or spoken to that way
To Frosti, Dave said Sherea should be next to leave
Frosit told Dave he should listen to what others say

Back at Fei Long, Aaron read the latest Treemail
The next challenge will require agility, not brawn
If the tribe "sticks together", they may well prevail
The champions will have something to feast upon

Into the night, Fei Long and Zhan Hu would hike
At Tribal Council, the Reward Challenge was held
Fireworks, within six woks, are in need of a strike
Jeff called them in, and a challenge was detailed

Two, from each tribe, will employ giant chop-sticks
Down a course, they'll need to transport a "fireball"
To accomplish this, they'll need teamwork that clicks
Into a chute, at the course's end, a fireball must fall

Once a flaming fireball has been sent on it's way
Down a chute it'll roll, right into an awaiting wok
The wok will ignite, setting off a fireworks display
At red, or yellow fireworks, they'll hope to gawk

The first tribe igniting all three woks takes the prize
A fisherman, and family, will be visiting the winners
To the ways of fishing, the tribe should become wise
Along with a lesson, they'll enjoy a most tasty dinner

One, from Fei Long, won't be stepping up to the plate
Courtney raised a hand, and to the side she stepped
Each round, said Jeff, the chop-sticks will elongate
For the challenge, they were now properly prepped

Peih-Gee and Jaime would play first, for Zhan Hu
Both the women took a giant chop-stick in hand
For Fei Long, Todd and Denise were the first two
As well, each had a giant chop-stick to command

Through two small grooves, two balls were rolled
Upon reaching two flame boxes, both balls ignited
Onto each fireball, the chop-sticks would take hold
Denise and Todd's progress had Fei Long excited

Peih-Gee and Sherea were off to a slower start
While Todd and Denise drew nearer to a chute
Yet Zhan Hu's two finally mastered the fine art
For Sherea and Peih-Gee, their tribe would root

Todd and Denise were first to reach the course's end
They lifted the fireball, but failed to drop it into a slot
On their next try, much concentration they'd expend
This time, their focused effort wouldn't be for naught

Toward the wok, Fei Long's fireball would slide
Upon landing, the sky lit up with sparkles of red
Shortly thereafter, the challenge score was tied
Zhan Hu sparkled the sky with yellow, instead

For Fei Long, Amanda and Aaron took their turn
Zhan Hu's Frosti and Jaime were not far behind
Too close to the flame box, Frosti incurred a burn
Yet a steady pace, Aaron and Amanda would find

Of Fei Long's duo, "great job", Jeff would claim
Soon, before a chute, Amanda and Aaron stood
However, their fireball drop attempt was in vain
They were working with longer sticks of wood

To Fei Long's joy, their second try succeeded
Above Tribal Council, a splash of red appeared
Soon, Jamie and Frosti had the job completed
At the fireworks of yellow, Zhan Hu cheered

With a tally of two to two, the tribes were tied
Fei Long sent forth Jean-Robert and James
On Dave and Erik, Zhan Hu anxiously relied
Shortly, each duo's balls went up in flames

James and Jean-Robert were well in the lead
Erik and Dave struggled with the balancing act
Precision, Jean-Robert and James would need
Yet, once at the chute, it was what they lacked

Their difficulty at the end cut Zhan Hu a break
Dave and Erik were inching up on their heels
Still, the opposition left them in their wake
Fei Long would enjoy the tastiest of meals

A final burst of red would light the China sky
Jeff told Fei Long a kidnapping was in order
One from Zhan Hu would be going bye-bye
Dave was chosen as their temporary boarder

As twice prior, Jeff gave him a tube of bamboo
Dave joined his kidnappers, with quite the grin
The next morning, Dave reflected on Zhan Hu
He was most elated with the position he was in

Dave was awed, when James handed him a lime
To James, he tried to extend a thankful embrace
As for the hug, apparently it was not the first time
James reiterated that between them remain space

For Dave, the sojourn was to be a spy mission
With enemies at Zhan Hu, he'd need a few allies
To Todd, Dave privately presented a proposition
Along with clues to where an Immunity idol lies

Todd gladly accepted, and hands were shaken
If he were kidnapped, Dave would get the clue
Both men viewed it to be an opportunity taken
Once alone, Todd read the note within bamboo

It mentioned "creatures of the night" taking flight
"A treasure they carry allows one to stay", it read
Todd felt lucky two more clues had come to light
It was thanks to Leslie, and now Dave, Todd said

Zhan Hu started day eleven, sans their commander
Sherea thought the tension at camp had diminished
However, they had lost their main workload handler
There were chores ahead that needed to be finished

With the exception of Sherea, each tended to a chore
Said she, "I'll ride the workhorse till the tail falls off"
For challenges, her energy she preferred to store
At Sherea's lack of effort, a tired Erik would scoff

Back at Fei Long, a fisherman, and family, docked
After a warm greeting, the happy tribe would mingle
With their guests, in Mandarin, Jean-Robert talked
To his mates surprise, he is, at the least, bi-lingual

As a "little kid", Jean-Robert had lived in Taiwan
He was pleasantly surprised at what he'd retained
The family's instruction, he was able to pass along
Thanks to Jean-Robert, communication was gained

The fisherman said two tribe mates will board the boat
For the enthusiastic ears, the invitation was translated
Fei Long decided Aaron and Denise would be set afloat
Onto a small fishing craft, they were promptly situated

A smaller, bird filled boat, the larger boat would tow
Around each bird's neck, a loop of twine was placed
With graceful dives, into the water the birds would go
In the green hued lake, their darting paths were traced

Once each of the birds had partially swallowed a fish
To awaiting sticks, the birds fluttered in for a landing
They literally offered up their catch, as was their wish
These trained fishing birds were truly outstanding

Back at camp, a delicious meal was being prepared
According to what the visiting wife would instruct
Through Jean-Robert, her requests were shared
James felt Jean-Robert's manner was abrupt

The fisherman's wife asked that a fire be made
Jean-Robert's delivery landed James in a stew
James disliked how the translation was relayed
Though ultimately, he gave Jean-Robert his due

Upon the boat, a most valuable lesson was taught
Denise and Aaron learned how to use a fishing net
From what was gleaned, future meals will be caught
With a steady diet of fish, tribe Fei Long would be set

Again, the boat docked, bearing a bounty of delights
In sitting down to enjoy the meal, no time was wasted
For Denise, it was an ascension into culinary heights
As for delicacies, it was the best she had ever tasted

When the meal was completed, the family departed
Fei Long waved goodbye to their hospitable guests
For Amanda, a gift from the visit was highly regarded
The cultural learning experience had been the best

On day twelve, another challenge would commence
As Tribal Council would soon host a fourth seating
Dave's stay at camp Fei Long was now past tense
From Zhan Hu, he received a lackluster greeting

For their protection, stated Jeff, armor will be worn
In traditional Chinese attire, one another they'll face
Three rounds will play, once all are properly adorned
The Immunity idol will be the champion's saving grace

In the "gladiator arena", porcelain vases were in view
To the front of their tribal vases, the teams would file
For tossing "meteor hammers", their aim need be true
If the opposition's vases are to lay shattered in a pile

Along with the hammer, they'll need a bamboo pole
For their opponent's hammers, they'll wish to deflect
Smashing the most vases, in three rounds, is the goal
Those victorious will have an Immunity idol to collect

Three men and three women, per tribe, would compete
With one man up, Fei Long was asked to sit a man out
After uttering his own name, Jean-Robert took a seat
Four women suited up, and so began the latest bout

Peih-Gee and Sherea comprised Zhan Hu's female team
Courtney and Denise played for Fei Long, in round one
Denise let a hammer fly, yet over the top it would careen
Falling short of the vases, no points had Peih-Gee won

With Zhan Hu's second hammer, Sherea found no luck
Courtney flung Fei Long's second hammer, with no gain
By Peih-Gee's bamboo pole, Denise's throw was struck
Sherea tried again, and a point for Zhan Hu she'd attain

With three throws to a round, the first was at an end
At one to zero, Zhan Hu began round two in the lead
Time in a suit of armor, Todd and James would spend
The smashing of Fei Long's vases, they'll need impede

They'll battle Frosti and Dave, across the arena's divide
Dave's one and only flinging attempt resulted in a miss
Frosti's fling of hammer two earned nothing for his side
Though one vase each, Todd and James would dismiss

With a total of two to one, Fei Long now held top score
James batted Frosti's third and final fling to the ground
After which, James flung a meteor hammer once more
His launch connected, concluding the second round

With a score of three to one, tribe Zhan Hu trailed
Jamie and Erik would attempt to alter the standing
The hammer fling's of Amanda and Aaron derailed
Erik and Jaime assigned each an alternate landing

The first hammer flung by Zhan Hu made the grade
Jaime smashed two vases, filling the tribe with glee
There were still a few meteor hammers to be played
Jeff announced the score was tied at three to three

Aaron handily deflected Erik's first hammer fling
Amanda launched Fei Long's third and final toss
A fourth point is what Amanda's fling would bring
Jaime let a final hammer fly, which ended in a loss

With a tally of four to three, Fei Long won Immunity
Jeff awarded the coveted statue to the elated tribe
For them, there'll be nary a torch snuffing to see
Zhan Hu, on the other hand, will be cut to five

Back at camp, the tribe lamented their defeat
Another member would soon depart the soil
Before leaving for Tribal, Erik wished to eat
The lake water within a pot was put to boil

Dave preferred the water be from the well
For in lake water, the parasites would teem
His command, however, upon deaf ears fell
A "strange vibe" was in the air, it would seem

The change in atmosphere had Dave nervous
To all but Sherea, he praised his contributions
For the tribe, his ousting would be a disservice
Dave was told they had drawn no conclusions

Jaime, Frosti, Erik and Peih-Gee had a discussion
The pros and cons of the other two were weighed
A vote for Dave or Sherea came with repercussions
Though regarded a toss-up, a choice had to be made

Dave worked harder that anyone else had worked
Though tolerance for his leadership had worn thin
The camp's daily work, Sherea continually shirked
Yet she improved their chances for a challenge win

Sherea observed the four talking, in hushed voices
She assumed her name was mentioned in the chat
A lack of productivity made her one of the choices
Later, the same four were told why she mostly sat

That she was saving energy, Sherea declared
In every challenge to date, she'd busted her butt
For Tribal Council's hike, Zhan Hu's six prepared
The time had come for a third member to be cut

Jeff welcomed in the tribe, and seats were filled
To Sherea, Jeff's initial question was addressed
In Dave's time away, how had the tribe gelled?
It was a relaxed couple of days, she'd attest

Despite his absence, said she, camp thrived
Jeff asked Frosti if that was a credit to Dave
Absolutely, he replied, credit can be derived
Without him, camp life may have been grave

Jeff remarked that Erik was nodding his head
"I like Dave", Erik would appreciatively reply
Erik said not all respected the way Dave led
That made Sherea's eyes roll toward the sky

Jeff asked Dave if he'd prefer his roll be altered
Dave said a leadership position had to be filled
Without his knowledge, they may have faltered
Still, with the position, he was not too thrilled

Jeff asked Peih-Gee about the upcoming vote
Should work be sacrificed in favor of winning?
With a balance, said Peih-Gee, they'll stay afloat
Otherwise, their numbers will continue thinning

Peih-Gee was into camp life, Sherea stated
Whereas for challenges, Sherea would live
A unified workforce had been demonstrated
She felt they all gave the best they could give

Jeff requested Zhan Hu take pen in hand
An ousting, this player attempted to stave
His teammates had their fill of his command
The torch that Jeff snuffed belonged to Dave
